Welcome to the 1st in my series on How To Build A More Customer-Centric Business. #1: Setting Your Project Up For Success – Stakeholder interviews
"88% of business transformations fail to achieve their original ambitions."(Bain & Co).
We've observed that big initiatives stall when leaders aren’t aligned.
Each person brings their own valuable set of experiences to the table. It's important to surface what matters most to each leader, reveal where perspectives diverge, and help teams build a shared foundation for decision-making and momentum.
That's where stakeholder interviews come in.
What are Stakeholder Interviews?
A series of structured, one-on-one conversations with leaders who drive or are impacted by the initiative.
How we do it:
We talk with leaders and key stakeholders to understand their views on the organization’s vision, growth ambitions, barriers, strengths, and success criteria. Then we play it all back to the client leadership team to spark debate and ultimately commitment.
How this helps you:
✅ Consolidates diverse leadership voices
✅ Clarifies where alignment already exists
✅ Exposes gaps that need attention
✅ Builds shared commitment to priorities
When leaders are aligned, projects move faster, decisions get clearer, and change takes hold.
Key Points
Big initiatives often stall - not because of poor strategy, but leadership voices aren't aligned.
Why does happen? Stakeholders have varied experiences and bring their individual vision, priorities, and success criteria.
Why is this a problem? Competing agendas among stakeholders / resource holders can derail the project over time.
What's missing? Too often, key stakeholders don't debate and reach consensus on strategies to bring the greatest impact.
When leaders are aligned, projects move faster and change happens.
What's the solution? With our stakeholder interview method, leaders feel heard and alignment happens.
